Accident Reporting and Investigation
An accident is an unforeseen and unplanned event or circumstance, often with lack of intention or necessity. It usually implies a generally negative outcome which may have been avoided or prevented had circumstances leading up to the accident been recognized, and acted upon, prior to its occurrence.

Once an accident happens, it must be reported immediately to the appointed person for further investigation and to the government as per legislation. Accidents are investigated in order to determine the cause or causes of an accident or series of accidents so as to prevent further incidents of a similar kind.
