Scope
The competency training program for Confined Space Entrant OSH Officer (Petugas K3 Utama Ruang Terbatas) is a collaboration program with Kemenakertrans RI to comply with government regulations No. SE No. 01/DJPPK/I/2011 concerning competence, curriculum, and special requirements for Confined Space Entrant Occupational Safety & Health Officers (Petugas Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja Utama Ruang Terbatas).

In addition to fulfilling the requirements of one of the government programs, participants are expected to be able to work safely in confined spaces and carry out work procedures in accordance with the confined space entry program in order to prevent work accidents and work-related illnesses, as well as other work safety activities.

General Course Objectives:
The objectives of the Confined Space Entrant are that delegates will be able to understand and implement:
  • Occupational safety and health policy for work in confined spaces.
  • Principles of occupational safety & health in confined spaces.
  • Permit to Work procedures.
  • Identification and assessment of hazard risks in confined spaces (HIRA/JSA)
  • Lock Out – Tag Out Procedure
  • Characteristics of hazardous chemicals in confined spaces.
  • Measurement & detection Technique of toxic and explosive gases in confined spaces.
  • Emergency response plans & first aid procedures in confined space accidents.
  • Personal Protective Equipment for work in confined spaces.

Course Content:
  • Theory:
    • K3 Laws & regulations in confined spaces.
    • Basics of K3 in confined spaces.
    • Introduction to the characteristics of hazardous chemicals in confined spaces.
    • Identification and assessment of hazard risks in confined spaces (HIRA/JSA)
    • Work permit procedures in confined/closed spaces (work permit system).
    • Measurement & gas detection techniques in confined spaces.
    • Lock Out – Tag Out Procedure
    • Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and First Aid plan procedures.
    • Program to enter confined spaces.
    • Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment for work in confined spaces.
    • Evaluation
    • Exam
  • Practical:
    • Procedure for entering a confined space & application for a permit to work.
    • Measurement and detection of toxic gas.
    • Procedure for use of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
Prerequisites:
  • Indonesian Citizen
  • Prepare an Android cellphone/Laptop with a stable internet connection (applicable for blended method only)
  • Min. high school diploma with 2 years’ experience working in confined space.
  • Digital photo, professionally attired, on red background.
  • Valid Medical Certificate from Doctor/Clinic.
  • Employment Letter from the Company.
  • Copy of the ID card.
  • Statement letter to fully attend the blended training (applicable for blended method only)
