ScopeThis program is designed to provide personnel working in Office, Industrial, commercial, or institutional facilities who are not members of an Emergency Response Team with a basic understanding of fire hazards in the workplace, preventative measures and appropriate responses to a fire emergency. Delegates will develop skills associated with the use of fire extinguishing devices and alarm systems primarily to safely evacuate themselves and others from a fire situation in the workplace.
Instruction on the course is comprised of lectures, discussion, demonstrations and practical exercises to achieve the objectives. Practical training will conducted in the use of portable fire extinguishers.
Depending on the needs of the client and their available training space, the practical elements of this course can be delivered with real fire utilising our FirePan™ or with our state of the art Digital Fire Simulator.
The FirePan™ for practical sessions is as close to the real thing as possible, it is also safe. Internal safety mechanisms and a single button remote control place FirePan™, a certified and approved gas fuelled training device, entirely within the control of the instructor. Flame height is adjustable, with no danger of undesired flame spread.
The Digital Fire Simulator utilises a large LED screen and smoke machine which simulates either a class A, B or C fire. Students must identify the fire, select the correct type of extinguisher and use the correct techniques to extinguish the fire. This simulator can be used inside any workplace with no disruption to operations.
