This program is designed to provide personnel working in Office, Industrial, commercial, or institutional facilities who are not members of an Emergency Response Team with a basic understanding of fire hazards in the workplace, preventative measures and appropriate responses to a fire emergency. This course is designed for workers who are potentially exposed to a firefighting hazard. Students will learn the basic principles of fire fighting with handheld fire extinguishers. The classroom sessions cover basic fire theory, extinguisher capabilities and limitations, extinguisher operation, application techniques and recharge and basic maintenance of extinguishers.
