Scope The Hydro Blasting (Water Jet) training program is designed for experienced water jet operators responsible for high-pressure water cleaning activities. This advanced course covers essential topics such as pump fundamentals and problem-solving techniques. Upon completion, qualified operators will be equipped to supervise other high-pressure water jetting team members. The program adheres to the High-Pressure Water Jetting standards set by DERC Adviesgroep, a member of SIR & WJA, ensuring compliance and excellence in the industry.

General Course Objectives:
The objectives of the Hydroblasting (Water Jet) are that delegates will be able to:
  1. Understand and comply with the standard
  2. Comply with work health and safety & general duty of care
  3. Identify Hazards associated with High-Pressure Water blasting within a wide range of applications
  4. Understand pressure and flow, troubleshooting systems
  5. Implement quality and environmental management
  6. Understand the behaviours of nozzles and attachments
  7. Understand the roles and responsibilities of the entire working team
  8. Implement Safe work practices
Course Content:
  1. Hydroblasting for operator/jetter/supervisor/inspector water jet.
  2. Equipment Technical Information with work safety standards in waterjet.
  3. Safety equipment for waterjet.
  4. Regulation information in accordance with waterjet.
  5. Responsibility in waterjet working procedures.
  6. Nozzle selection calculations based on the pressure and flow usage.
  7. Reaction Force (back thrust)
  8. Working method and how to use it to minimise the potential risk during the waterjet work activity
  9. Practical Training, how to apply all materials (during the course) in water jet work with 2 (two) options:
    • High Pressure Waterjet Pump (10,000 psi - 20,000 psi)
    • Ultra High Pressure Waterjet Pump (30,000 psi - 40,000 psi)
  10. Examination & evaluation.

Prerequisites: Valid Medical Certificate from Doctor/Clinic.

Certificate:
All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive
  • A PT Samson Tiara certificate for Hydro Blasting (Water Jet) Operator;
  • A laminated wallet course qualification card.
