FI-Initial

Flight Information - Initial
Scope
Effective communication between pilots and ground personnel is critical to aviation safety. Previously, this was facilitated through the Air-to-Ground and Ground-to-Ground Radiotelephony (AGGGR) or Aeronautical Radio Operator (ARO) ratings. However, following the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Regulation No. PM 87 of 2021 (CASR Part 69), these ratings have been replaced by the Flight Information (FI) rating.

This course provides comprehensive training for aviation personnel seeking the FI rating, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to deliver air traffic advisory, flight information, and alerting services. It is designed for individuals responsible for supporting en-route flights and operations within Aerodrome Flight Information Zones (AFIZ) or remotely managed heliports.

General Course Objectives:
By the end of the Flight Information – Initial course, participants will be able to:
  1. Deliver and supervise air traffic advisory, flight information, and alerting services for aircraft operating within AFIZ and remotely managed heliports.
