Basic Fire Fighting course (Incl. SCBA) - Course Code 3500
- Aim:
The ability of a worker to effectively extinguish a small fire can be the difference
between a small incident and a major accident costing millions in damage and lost
production time.
This course is designed for workers who are potentially exposed to a firefighting
hazard. Students will learn the basic principles of fire fighting with handheld
fire extinguishers. The classroom sessions cover basic fire theory, extinguisher
capabilities and limitations, extinguisher operation, application techniques and
recharge and basic maintenance of extinguishers. Exercises on the fire ground include
using various handheld extinguishers to fight class A & B fires.

- 08:30-09:00 The fire triangle
- 09:00-09:30 Classifications of fire
- 09:30-10:00 Extinguisher types and extinguishing agents
- 10:00-11:00 Checks and maintenance of hand held fire extinguishers
- 11:00-12:00 Fire extinguishing techniques
- 13:00-13:30 Equipment types and use of SCBA, types of hazardous atmospheres
- 13:30-14:00 Equipment stowage and maintenance, SCBA use donning, doffing, packing
- 14:00-15:00 Practical in the smoke house
- 15:00-16:30 Fire pad exercises
- 16:30-17:00 Exercise debrief
- Course Duration: One (1) day – 8 hours
- Course Fee: On request – at PT. Samson Tiara’s training facility,
Cilegon, Banten
(Course fee includes transport to & from training center, student workbooks,
certificate/ID’s card and lunch on day of training only, excludes 10% VAT/local
government tax).
