Further Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Course - Course Code 1015
- Scope:
This course is designed for personnel designated as lifeboat coxswain on offshore
installations.
- General Course Objectives:
During the course delegates will learn and demonstrate to a level of competence
all aspects of preparation, launching, maneuvering and retrieval of a totally enclosed
lifeboat (TEMPSC).

- Maintaining Operational Readiness
- Preparing the Lifeboat for Launching
- Mustering
- Radio Communication
- Clearing the Installation
- Use of Compass
- Retrieval and Stowage of Lifeboat
- Towing and Pacing Exercises
- Launching into a Hazardous Environment
- Recovery of Man Overboard Exercises
- Passenger Management
- Course Duration: Two (2) days
- Course Validity: 2 years
- Course Requirements:
All delegates must be in possession of a valid medical certificate, a valid (T-)BOSIET
or (T-)FOET and a valid Lifeboat Coxswain Course certificate
- Course Venue:
PT. Samson Tiara’s training center, Cilegon, Banten
- Course Fee: On request
The course fee covers: Transportation to/from station pointed in Jakarta to/from
the training center at Cilegon, Banten, SOS Int’l stand by Paramedic, student’s
workbook, and usage of training equipments, certificate/ID card, OPITO registration
and lunch on days of training. The course prices exclude PPN/VAT 10%.
- Accommodation:
Hotel Permata Krakatau, Cilegon: US$70.00/ night/ person/ full board and lodging,
excluding tax 10%.
- Course Equipment:
PT Samson Tiara will provide coverall, shower kits (towel, soap and shampoo), safety
glasses, safety gloves and safety helmets. Delegates are to bring their own safety
shoes.
- Certificate:
All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards
will receive
- A PT Samson Tiara / Survival Systems Asia certificate approved by OPITO for Further
Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Course - Course Code 1015; and
- A laminated wallet course qualification card.
