- Aim:
The aim of this course is to provide offshore personnel with the knowledge and skills
necessary to care for themselves and others in sea survival situations for an indefinite
period of time and to participate to the maximum extent in their own rescue. This
program meets and exceeds the standards put forth by the International Association
of Sea Survival Training (IASST). The course includes the psychology of survival,
life saving appliances, actions prior to abandonment, survival at sea and rescue
techniques. The program consists of classroom sessions, pool exercises, active participation
in practice drills and a survival exercise at sea.
- Course content:
- 08:00-09:00 Stresses of sea survival
- 09:00-09:30 Survival life support
- 09:30-10:00 Survival equipment
- 10:00-10:30 “Sea Can Kill” video presentations
- 10:30-12:00 Pool training session (Formation, Scramble net, transfer personnel -using
basket (FROG), swing rope, hoisting, jumping, righting liferaft, etc.)
- 13:00-14:00 Transit to Sea, Lifeboat abandonment drill
- 14:00-15:00 Signaling exercise at sea
- 15:00-16:30 Rescue techniques exercise at sea
- 16:30-17:00 Exercise debriefs
- Course Venue:
PT. Samson Tiara’s training center at Cilegon, Banten
- Course Duration: One (1) day
- Course Fee: On request.
The course fee covers: Transportation to/from station pointed in Jakarta to/from
the training center at Cilegon, Banten, student’s workbook, and usage of training
equipments, certificate/ID card and lunch on day of training. The course price excludes
VAT/PPN 10%.
- Course Equipment:
Survival Systems Asia will cover coverall, shower kits (towel, soap and shampoo),
and water shoes, except personal swimming suits or shorts for water exercises during
practical.
- Certificate:
All personnel successfully completing the course will receive a Survival Systems
Asia Basic Sea Survival certificate of completion.
- Certificate:
All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards
will receive
- PT Samson Tiara / Survival Systems Asia certificate for Basic Sea Survival - Course
Code 1005; and
- A laminated wallet course qualification card.
