IWCF Virtual Training – Available Now

IWCF Virtual Training Announcement

Samson Tiara is delighted to announce that our training partners, Aberdeen Drilling International, are now offering IWCF accredited Drilling Well Control and Well Intervention Pressure Control courses with the use of their distance-learning, virtual classrooms.

Their digital platform facilitates Instructor-led teaching with live presentations, interactive breakout sessions on virtual whiteboards, virtual team activities, and online assessments and quizzes, all from the safety & comfort of your own home or work-space.

With classes conducted weekly, all delegates will be fully supported by the team at Aberdeen Drilling International for any questions or queries throughout the training.

Open Letter to Clients Regarding COVID-19

As a valued client of PT. Samson Tiara, I would like you to hear directly from me on the developing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and the precautions and plans we have in place for our training facility.

The safety and wellbeing of our Students and Staff, continues as always to be our No. 1 priority.

The number of people testing positive to COVID-19 is increasing rapidly around the globe. Thankfully, to date, we have had no Participants nor Staff Members at PT. Samson Tiara test positive for the virus.

Ongoing vigilance around personal hygiene and cleaning standards remain key to containment.

Therefore, given the World Health Organization’s pandemic announcement, it is timely to outline the precautionary measures we are taking to best deliver an environment that you can visit or send your staff and feel comfortable.

Stuck Pipe Prevention Training in Focus

Are we preventing incidents or reacting to them? In the ongoing battle for reducing stuck pipe events, a shift in focus is needed.

The Issue

With over thirty years of experience in supplying specialist training to the oil and gas industry, Aberdeen Drilling School has become accustomed to the changing needs of its clients. Training objectives move with the times, as should the training, but the requests for “stuck pipe prevention training including fishing techniques” remain a constant.

Statistics backed by conversations with our clients indicate that stuck pipe is by far the greatest cause of lost time during drilling operations.  Feedback from Operators suggests that the right type of training, focusing on the causes of stuck pipe and the importance communication can significantly reduce the incidence.  Industry professionals will agree that addressing the root cause of a problem is an effective long-term strategy for success.
